TMZ is reporting that Matt Hardy has been rushed to the emergency room at a local hospital after falling down at his home in Cameron, North Carolina. According to their sources close to Hardy, he "hadn't been feeling well," though it's "unclear as to what caused Matt to fall down."
A family member told TMZ that they believe Matt will be released from the hospital tomorrow.
As we've been covering here on Bleacher Report this week, Hardy was fired by TNA Impact Wrestling after a car accident led to an arrest for driving while impaired and his mugshot was a scary look into his current state. It also came out that he had been cited for reckless driving a few weeks ago.
Due to their pattern of unreliable and troubling behavior, TNA had suspended both Matt and his brother Jeff Hardy indefinitely pending their completion of an inpatient drug rehab program. In spite of that, Jeff is inexplicably returning to action on tomorrow's live Impact broadcast.
Obviously, when a 36-year-old man known to have severe substance abuse issues is admitted to a hospital after "falling down at home," there's going to be a lot of speculation that it was more than just a fall. As the day goes on, this post will be updated with any new information as well as more details about what's been going on with Matt Hardy and why we should be concerned about him.
