LSU Football: Did LSU Win or Did Oregon Lose the Game More
The LSU Tigers beat the Oregon Ducks and made themselves a serious National Championship contender with a 40-27 victory.
Although LSU won and had a impressive defensive outing, the Oregon Ducks did beat themselves more than the Tigers won the game.
First off, the thing we learned the most from this game is that quarterback Darron Thomas can't produce when running back LaMichael James isn't himself. When James missed time with an injury Thomas couldn't complete a pass to save his life. He was a completely different quarterback and has some serious accuracy problems.
The Ducks also has 12 penalties for almost 100 yards and four turnovers. It's hard to win when you shoot yourself in the foot that many times, especially against a good team like the LSU Tigers.
LSU did a good job of capitalizing off the miscues of Oregon but if the Ducks played a much cleaner game, the outcome may have been different.
Based off the Tigers performance and with a brutal schedule that lies ahead this team may be in trouble. The defense is great but only 273 yards on offense is not going to get it done, especially only 98 passing yards.
If it wasn't for the four turnovers, the Ducks would have won this game.
