SEC Football: Kentucky Shows They Have a Long Way to Go

The departure of do-it-all wide receiver Randall Cobb and quarterback Mike Hartline were clearly too much of a loss as evidenced by Kentucky’s lackluster win over Western Kentucky.
The Wildcats just looked pitiful and the 14-3 doesn’t tell the half of it. Kentucky was held to just 190 total yards, only 75 in the first three quarters and threw three interceptions. Against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.
The crowd was nearly empty and there were too many penalties to count.
Head coach Joker Phillips needs to do something to turn this program around and fast before this season gets very out of hand.
Vanderbilt has stepped up their game and brought in James Franklin as their head coach who has been getting commitments to sign a top 25 recruiting class this upcoming year. Ole Miss had a couple of good years but Kentucky has not been relevant since at least the 90s and they lost all in all of their bowl appearances.
This is Phillips’ second season as head coach. Last year they barely went 6-6 and if their game against Western Kentucky was any hint, a .500 record is a lofty goal.
