SEC Football: Conference Looks Weak After Not Standing Up to Baylor
Had you told anyone last year that the Baylor Bears would stall conference expansion and potentially save the Big 12 and they would have called you crazy.
Yet here we are and perhaps even more shocking is how weak the SEC looks in all of this. No one is disputing the conference’s on field performance but Baylor and up to six other Big 12 schools could sue the SEC and possibly Texas A&M if Oklahoma leaves the conference.
The Aggies are absolutely, without a doubt done with the Big 12 and Oklahoma knows that so none of that should affect their decision. That means the SEC will get sued regardless of what they do with Texas A&M.
So why don’t they just add them already? The more they sit and wait, the more it looks like they are leaving their new school out to dry.
Also, why not start moving around for a 14th team now? The timing is right with so much chaos. Yes, they aren’t allowed to publicly go after certain schools, a school must come to them, but they could at least let people know who they’ve been talking to and try to shake things up.
As of right now, the SEC has absolutely no shot of getting a good 14th team to balance their conference.
The SEC needs to start acting off the field the way they do on it.
