Raiders Rumors: Chad Johnson Oakland Bound?

It's no secret that Chad Johnson wants out of Bengal town. It's also no secret that Chad Johnson is an amazing player.

So where do the Raiders fit in?

The Raiders have been known to go after the big play-makers. Also, the Raiders are hurting pretty bad for a big time receiver, and Johnson fits that bill.

But why would anyone want to go to the dysfunctional Oakland Raiders?

They have an up-and-coming quarterback in JaMarcus Russell. Just think of that duo hooking up for multiple touchdowns in a game. Move over Brady and Moss!

During an episode of NFL Live the other night, as they were going off the air, you could hear Chad say, "Oakland, call me."

If that doesn't say he wants to be a Raider, I don't know what does.

I would love to see Chad on the team. But then again, would he just end up like Randy Moss when he came to Oakland?

Don't be surprised to see Chad Johnson on the Raiders, but also don't be surprised if you see Chad unhappy a year from now.

Who would the Bengals get in return. The Raiders don't have enough to trade for a pro bowl caliber player.

ummmm...the Patriots got an unhappy Randy Moss off the Raiders for a 4th round pick, so I think Oakland could probably get it done.

I thought he said, "Oprah, call me" like he's been saying for years.

If Cincy is willing to deal him then the Raiders better make sure that JaMarcus Russell is throwing passes to "ocho cinco" next season. The Raiders' offense could be a NFL powerhouse if they sign him and take Darren McFadden in the draft. Since keeping Fargas would cost a lot of money they should let him go and invest it in D-Mac.

Uh, Rock. Fargas will cost waaaay less than Dmac. Dmac is looking at being the #4 in the draft which should give him a 6yr./+$50mil. contract. What do you think Fargas is worth?

and he said OPRAH, not Oakland. Tony, you blew it.

Chad also expressed interest in about every other team without really saying that he wants out of Cinci..told Parcells to call him too....he doesn't "want" to be a raider...he just wants to be out of Cinci and will go wherever he can!

Raiders will go after Roy Williams (Detroit) or Chad Johnson. The problem is the Raiders dont have many draft picks this year. Oakland has not round 3 and round 5 picks, but they probably want to trade down if they dont get Chris Long or Glenn Dorsey, even if McFadden is available.

As I have heard or read, Detroit will try to trade Roy Williams, and I think they could trade him for Oakland second rounder this year, that is pick 34/35 depending on coin flip with Atlanta. I think Oakland and Al Davis prefer Roy Williams, cause he said the Raiders have the best looking uniform in the NFL and he wanted to go there in 2004 when Oakland selected Robert Gallery instead of him, and Davis seriously considered taking him as the second pick after Manning.

LoL, "Ocho Cinco" that was the funnies Sh*t he has ever done, IN MY OPINION. All other circus acts were plain and simple JUST STUPID asking for attention. The Ocho Cinco crap was funny comming from an african american.

Ocho Cinco is just having fun and not hurting anyone I wish there where more players like him. He would also look good in the silver and black.

Really, what makes you say that, other than just throwing crap against the wall to see if it sticks? How are they going to go after him? They are down 2 draft picks to start off with on a team that needs an infusion of talent, and from looking at their roster, which I'm sure you have(insert rolleyes emoticon here) you'll see that we don't have top talent at any position of their need to make an even trade. Remember now, he's not an FA so Al just can't go and write a check. Whats your expert opinion on how "they are going to go after him"?

This is irresponsible journalism at best. I'm sorry, but it appears you are just collecting a paycheck here.

Ocho Cinco won't quit on a team like Moss does. He wine and complain off the field but I've never seen him mope cry when things aren't going well during a game.

Besides Porter/Rhodes, we don't have any weapons that wouldn't be a back up on most other teams. Porter is most likley gone and, In my opinion, Roades is more a product of his systems than a player opposing defences lose sleep over. Fargas has an incredible motor but is a injury risk (he has more nuts and bolts in him than the family car) Plus last year was a contract year for him, which I'm sure was great motivation. I would love to see D-Mac and C. Johnson But, don't see how to afford it without some creative contract moves, or sacrifices to other team needs. If Chad did land in Oakland, we would still need someone to couple with him ( right now he benifits from T-House and Z. Miller can't do it all ), or he will just disapper like Moss/Porter did. A top reciever is a must But, a scary good RB also on a Kiffin team would be alot of damb fun!

The Raiders just need to pick up the best reciever they can pick up in the draft!!! Screw Ocho Cinco and save the money we would loose for him. We do not need a running back, for our line has come together now and anyone can run behind them. But if we were to get Johnson, he would not be a loss like moss and porter do to the Quarter back we now have!!!!

Porter is done, see ya...He might be better with another team...like the fins or falcons, but on a good team he is a # 2 or 3 reciever!!! Get him if the price is right, Why let Fargas go, hes a work horse...no whinning, crying and B!#^'in...like Rhodes or Jordan!!! Bush and Fargas...Remember thunder and lightning...Wheatly and Kaufman????

I saw the episode today on the Rome is Burnging show. Kirk Morrison was the correspondant. he spoke to many people. He spoke to Chad Johnson. but chad did not say oprah. he said something along the lines of he wanted to come play for oakland. and for Al to call him. he said he will turn the black hole white. It sounded like he was joking but there might be something more to that. Lets ask Morrison what happend.

Don't get me wrong, Chad is a great Reciever! By "getting lost" I just meant, without a real threat on the other side defences will double team Chad ( or any primary reciever)and will try to make him a non factor. Poter/Moss had eachother in 05' and made Collins look Decent, finishing in the top 10 of many leage passing stats. If I had my wish, Kiffin would use his good relationship to sign Porter to a respectable #2 Rec contract and bring in a true deep threat ( welcome to fantasy island). JaMarcus should be great as soon as he gets up to nfl speed and learns to read defences, But to live up to his true potential, he will need at least 2 very good recievers.

first off this be da raider fan...first off eff all the haters and props for all fans and raider players! before picking up any player like ocho cinco or roy williams or albert haynesworth we MUST resign Nnamdi Asomugha. Our defense needs some type revitalization in the DL aspect and a young solid LB to play along side with The Law Office of Morrison & Howard. After we do these 3 things we can hope to best coaching from Ryan for our defense to play like it did in 06-07 season. Now we look at the offense. If for some incredible way we can get ocho cinco for a 2nd round pick will be beneficiary and sign porter to a contract worth of a #2 reciever and keep curry and inser lee higgins into the mix will be a mirror image as to the 07-08 patriots receiving corps. if we go for DMcFadden in the draft it makes us much more frightening than the 07-08 patriots. we dont know how m bush can deliver but if he played in college and lives up to his potential we'll have a dual back with mcfadden and bush and rhodes. jamarcuss can eventually have this...#1 rec ocho cinco #2 jerry porter #3 r curry #4 lee higgins and TE zach miller and dmcfadden with justin griffith with a strong OL yeap we are great contenders...all is left is for raider haters to stop hating and get off our nuts you effers are always talkin bout us yes we know how much you like talkin bout us but just stop its dumb and annoyin..so there it is and this is coming from a person who predicted before the 01-02 season that the bucs were goin to meet the raiders in the superbowl i shouldve chose the winner cuz we wouldve won i also predicted this years super bowl champs before the postseason began so yeap eff randy moss and the patriots hahahah congrats tollefson and boothe and osi and strahan...next year it will be the raiders and .... tune in bitcheszzz i have the answer!!

Oakland has recently signed Javon Walker, and Drew Carter as recievers. Not great but better than curry and higgins now that porter is gone. Bush is going to be the next Grant. No one has seen him play but when given the chance, he will do his damn thing. With he secondary of Nnamdi Asomugha, DeAngelo Hall, Michael Huff and Gibril Wilson, his is a legendary secondary in the making. efense wins championships. Point and case, Giants and Patriots. Brady didnt have the time, patriots dont have the rings. With a defense like the Raiders have right now, we dont have to go spending 50 million on an "Ocho Cinco" type reciever. Stop the other team from scoring and its impossible for them to win against you. Next year I guarantee Raiders are top 5 in rush Defense and NUMBER 1 in stopping the pass.

Just don't see Chad getting out of Kitty Litter this year. Cincy has nothing to gain by losing their Number 1 receiver. He is under contract and recently showerd up to camp. While I would love to see Chad in Silver n Black the only trade we could muster would have been jerry porter and some picks. But that deal is done.
We may have to wait till next year when Chad will be even more unhappy with his team and the Raiders will be a team on the rise.
