The NBA is a circus.

Professional basketball courts are native to giants; it’s a place where flying goes from being a dream to reality.  The league is home to ring leaders, fire eaters, clowns, bearded ladies and more clowns.

You may think your favorite sport has better athletes.  You may think your favorite sport is more physical.  You may have an argument for each, but no sport on the planet can boast the hilarious personalities that the NBA can.

Sit back, relax and enjoy the show; here are the 40 most outrageously funny people in the NBA (in the YouTube Era):

Note: Be on constant lookout for hyperlinks.

Honorable Mention: Andray Blatche

And this is why the Washington Wizards are only good on NBA 2K.

If only Andray Blatche hustled for boards to win games like he did going for that triple-double.

Honorable Mention: Brandon Jennings

Hopefully, for Brandon Jennings' sake, he just lost a bet.

Apparently this is what Jennings does when he's not calling out Kobe or making fun of LeBron's hairline.

40. Dwyane Wade

Dwyane Wade is the Robin to LeBron’s Batman…in personality.

D-Wade is funny, but he’d definitely be a fashion advisor after he retires before he'd be a comedian.

39. Rudy Gay

Can you believe that Rudy Gay didn't get to the All-Star Game after this brilliant campaigning?

Oh well, at least he found a new hobby after he injured his shoulder last season.

38. Kevin Love

If this list featured the 40 most outrageously awkward players in the NBA, Kevin Love would have a case for No. 1.

Luckily for Love though, he's so awkward that it's hilarious.

37. Nate Robinson

Nate Robinson is a prankster and surprisingly, despite his lack of size, he targets the largest person around.

During his time with the Boston Celtics, that just happened to be The Big Leprechaun, Shaquille O'Neal.

36. Kobe Bryant

For some people, it takes certain company for their funny side to emerge and with Kobe Bryant, that company is Sasha "The Machine" Vujacic.

When Vujacic isn't around though, serious Kobe returns and he's just a jerk.

35. Lamar Odom

After watching this video, your eyes will be opened to the truth: The candy is just a cover.

A cover for what you ask?  Lamar Odom plays high.

34. J.R. Smith

...Speaking of NBA players playing high.

In all seriousness though, J.R. Smith is one of the coolest players in the league.

33. Allen Iverson

The world of sports is indebted to Allen Iverson; he made practice fun for everyone.

Speaking of debt...maybe MJ could lend him a few bucks.

32. Glen Davis

A few players on this list aren't necessarily funny themselves; they're just fun to laugh at.

Glen Davis aka Big Baby is one of those players.

31. Greg Oden

Forget his wasted potential on the basketball court; Greg Oden could've been one of the faces of the NBA with his personality.

You say, "What if he didn't get hurt every year," I say what if he played in a bigger market than Portland?

30. Yao Ming

Yao Ming's retirement was a real shame, not only because the NBA is losing their biggest Chinese name though.

Yao is one of the most dominant and most hood players in the league.

29. Dikembe Mutombo

I can't tell what's more awesome, Dikembe Mutombo's finger wag or his voice.

He has a bright future in radio.

28. Gilbert Arenas

If you ever happened to come across Agent Zero's now-terminated Twitter account, you'd know he's a nut.

On his official website you can "enter the world of Gilbert Arenas"; if only scientists would realize that exploring Mars is one click of a mouse away...

27. John Salley

John Salley is a vegetarian, can't you tell?

He played during the Bad Boys era on the Detroit Pistons, so it's no surprise that he would later turn to the dark side.

26. Mickael Pietrus

Mickael Pietrus is a fan favorite because of his high-flying dunks and his priceless personality.

Air France may wear Kobe Bryant's shoes, but he definitely doesn't wear his serious expression.

25. Phil Jackson

The Zen Master's quick wit is nearly unmatched.

Fans, don't let his straight face fool you.

24. Blake Griffin

(Fast-Forward to 1:10)

Blake Griffin's flying ability isn't the only reason why he's one of the most popular players in the league.

He may just go into comedy; Griffin already has an internship with Funny or Die.

23. Jeff Van Gundy

Jeff Van Gundy can do it all—coach, commentate, sing, etc.

Too bad the world, more specifically, the barber shop, doesn't give him the respect he deserves.

22. Avery Johnson

Avery Johnson's voice is a polar opposite of Dikembe Mutombo's.

As a player it would be nearly impossible to keep a straight face during an Avery Johnson rant.

21. Stephon Marbury

If Stephon Marbury hasn't already been diagnosed insane, a doctor should get on that.

When Marbury isn't on the basketball court, or bench, he's making homemade videos documenting waste of talents.

20. LeBron James

LeBron James isn't just a special breed of basketball player; not only is LeBron himself hilarious, he's fun to laugh at as well.

Fans don't really hate him because he lied to Cleveland, left, threw a party on South Beach and guaranteed eight titles—no, they envy his dancing ability.

19. Joakim Noah

Joakim Noah called someone else ugly—see, his sense of humor is off the charts.

He is one of the most hated players in the league because people are so jealous of his ability to not only ball, but sing and dance.

18. Adam Morrison

About Kevin Love being awkward, he's got nothing on Adam Morrison.

He should write a book: How to Go from No. 1 to League-Wide Pun.

17. Stephen A. Smith

Skip Bayless dreams every night about waking up and being as intense as Stephen A. Smith.

Stephen A. knows all...and no one reps Brooklyn like him.

16. Chris Bosh

Chris Bosh epitomizes the phrase "to laugh at."

Bosh tries so hard to be funny and most of the time he ends up being annoying, but when he's serious, he's hilarious.

15. Kevin Garnett

One of the most notorious trash talkers in the world of sports would never pass up the opportunity to make fun of Craig Sager and his odd suits.

Many people, like Joakim Noah, hate Kevin Garnett, but you can't deny his passion for the game.

14. Delonte West

No one can hate the face of KFC—except for LeBron, of course.

Delonte West is a natural, all-around athlete; he could play basketball shooting a sock through a hanger.

13. Ronny Turiaf

Ronny Turiaf is the most dramatic player in the NBA by far.

He is a good role player, great cheerleader.

12. Dennis Rodman

Stephon Marbury is insane in a bad way; Dennis Rodman is insane in a good way...sort of.

Rodman actually tries to be crazy while Marbury should just be in a straightjacket.

11. Rasheed Wallace

The ball don't lie and neither does Rasheed Wallace.

On the court, Wallace is intense, but off it, he's a clown.

10. Baron Davis

The Los Angeles market failed to take advantage of Baron Davis' sense of humor.

He had so much potential, but it's now wasted as he's rotting away in Cleveland.

9. Craig Sager

Craig Sager's suits may be infamous, but his talent is undeniable.

Sager is always the life of the party and everybody loves him.

8. Mark Madsen

Mark Madsen is without a doubt worthy of the 12th-Man Hall of Fame.

Mad Dog's back-to-back outweighs the Los Angeles Lakers' three-peat as a whole; the first celebration didn't even compare.

7. Brian Scalabrine

The reason why I didn't call Mark Madsen the greatest 12th man in NBA history: Brian Scalabrine.

The White Mamba's lethal agility and jaw-dropping flexibility is unmatched.

6. Steve Nash

Steve Nash's sense of humor is drier than a Phoenix desert.

But besides being hysterical, his work ethic is incredible; the man deserves a ring.

5. Dwight Howard

Frank Caliendo?  Dwight Howard is the king of impressions.

Charles Barkley, Derek Anderson, Beyonce—Howard can mimic them all.

4. Charles Barkley

Charles Barkley single-handedly makes watching TNT's Inside the NBA more entertaining than many actual basketball games.

Sir Charles may not be a role model, but he's a perfect example...of what not to do.

3. Ron Artest

Ron Artest, I mean, Metta World Peace, is the craziest player in the NBA; scratch that, he's the craziest player in all of sports.

I wonder what would feel weirder, 24 hours on drugs or 24 hours inside the mind of Artest.

2. Shaquille O'Neal

Shaquille O'Neal has made more people laugh than he's scored points in his NBA career, and that's saying something.

The only thing more entertaining than Superman behind a mic in a press conference is him next to Charles Barkley on TNT.

1. Gary Payton and Chris Webber

This duo could not be separated.

Shaq and Kobe, Magic and Kareem, and Jordan and Pippen pale in comparison to the greatest tag team in NBA history: Gary Payton and Chris Webber.

Too fast, too furious, too funny.
