The Woes Of Being a Die-Hard Raiders Fan

The list of things that has gone wrong the past 6 six years in Oakland: bust draft picks, numerous coach changes, embarrassing losses, poor play calling and execution, etc.  I'm not here to whine or moan about how bad the Raiders have been, but shed light on how we as Raiders fans can get through these tough times.

Heading into week the Raiders are 2-7.  Not what I hoped for this season, but at the same time it was unrealistic to expect them to be this amazing team by just looking at the names on the team's roster.  Al Davis has obviously lost it, but don't throw in the towel just yet.  The season is not over and on any given Sunday the Raiders could pull off a win.

Try to keep a positive outlook even if Oakland's future may look grim. Personally, I feel that a win means so much more to me than it ever did.  Think back to the Jets game, when Janikowski made that winning field goal in OT, did that not make your week? Sure as hell made mine.

Now don't get it misconstrued, I am not saying Raider fans should be content with losing.  The return to excellence is inevitable, it's just a matter of time.  Be patient, continue to show support, and don't be ashamed that you're an Oakland Raiders fan.

As for myself, I will continue to go to Knuckleheads (the only Oakland Raiders bar that I'm aware of in Fort Myers, FL) cheering on the football team that I love.
