With every decade comes a new set of beautiful athletes and WAGs, and with us fresh into a new decade, I wanted to take a look back at some of the most notable women in the world of sports from the 2000s.
Some of these women are still very much with us, and will continue to be for quite some time, but who knows what new hotties we'll be talking about by the end of this decade in 2020.
It's strange to think.
But for now, let's immortalize 40 of the hottest athletes and WAGs, all of whom broke through between 2000-2010.
Note: I based this list on their looks, not their accomplishments.
Playing pool doesn't exactly take athletic ability, but they've featured "The Black Widow"—she ate her husband, I guess—on ESPN, and that's good enough for me.
I would happily be hustled by her.
Watch her in action: Here she is, um, sinking 12 balls in one shot. That takes talent.
With a name like Ashley Force, you would think she was a superhero, but in reality, she's just a drag racer—but I don't know what she does at night.
She's been racing since 2007 but didn't get her first win till 2008. She's currently taking a hiatus because she's expecting her first child soon, but the sports world will welcome her back with open arms when she returns.
Watch her in action: here she is crashing into a wall. Don't worry, she was just fine.
I don't know how she does it, but her hair is always flowing like that. I've been assured by NASA that their top scientists are looking into it.
The beach volleyball star recently released a book where she outlines her troubles with alcoholism and sexual assault, which is surprising given her outstanding physique and athleticism.
And it's good to see that she's better. That's right, I can be serious.
Watch her in action: Here she is on the beach, in a bikini, of course, spiking some balls hard into the sand. And you better believe some of it is in slow motion.
And as Dave Chappelle taught us, everything's better in slow motion.
Jennie Finch is the one and only softball player that I know by name, which is saying something. It's not like we sit around talking about softball all day.
She's a lethal pitcher who won gold in the 2004 Summer Olympics, and then she started posing in bikinis in Sports Illustrated, which is probably what did it.
Yeah, that's why I know her name.
Watch her in action: Here she is putting on a pitching clinic—seriously.
Amanda Beard has won seven Olympic medals, which is awesome, but it wasn't until she posed nude for playboy in 2007 that we all knew her name.
She called it "a business decision," and it was, in my opinion, a very good one. I wish more women on this list would do the same.
Watch her in action: Here she is doing a bit of swimming, and also a bit of posing in a bikini.
Daniela Hantuchova has the classic girl-next-door look—which is my favorite type of look—and since her breakout year in 2002, when she broke into tennis' top 10, I've actually had a reason to watch tennis.
Well, there are a couple other reasons, but I'll get to that soon enough.
Watch her in action: here she is on an episode of "Wiki-What!?" as she's being tested to see how much she actually knows about herself—according to the Internet.
Russian tennis player Maria Kirilenko is only 24 and has only been playing professionally since 2007, but she's already left quite an impression, not just in the tennis world but in the modeling world as well.
She's currently the world's No. 24 tennis player, and we should be seeing plenty more of her well into this decade. Hopefully, there will be more photoshoots, too.
Watch her in action: speaking of photoshoots, here she is.
This is one of those women that I'd dread to think of what she looks like in the morning, but when she's dolled up and her face can move, she's very attractive.
What would this last decade have been if not for the former Spice Girl and wife of David Beckham? That's just not a world I want to know.
Slam it to the left, if you're having a good time. Shake it to the right, if you're having some good pie...
Sorry. I think that's how that song went.
Watch her in action: Since she doesn't really do anything, here she is cooking. And contrary to what I thought, her face can indeed move.
I know her mostly from her Playboy pictures, but she's been playing tennis professionally from 2005. And since this slideshow is about being hot and not accomplishments, I'm perfectly OK with having only seen her play a few times.
Now, if you want to know how many times I've seen those pictures, it's another story.
Watch her in action: here's a video of how people in her hometown of Flintstone, Georgia, reacted to her posing in Playboy. It's hard to believe she came from there...
I don't know how many people consider table tennis players athletes, but I guess it doesn't really matter right now.
They call her "the Anna Kournikova of table tennis," but I'm not entirely sure that's a good thing. I mean, it regards to beauty it is, but otherwise...
Watch her in action: check her out kicking ass on The Best Damn Sports Show Period.
It's unfortunate that she has to cover up that beautiful body of hers with all of that snow gear, because as you can see, she looks like fine in a bikini.
She's a regular at the X-Games, having won gold four times and earning one silver.
Watch her in action: speaking of the X-Games, here she is eating it in the snow, and it looks like it hurt.
I've never had a reason to include Michelle Beadle in a slideshow until now, and it's about time that I was able to.
ESPN has a lot of shows, most of which have gone a bit stale, as far as I'm concerned, but when SportsNation and Michelle Beadle debuted in 2009, I finally had a reason to tune back in.
She's smart, funny, cute and loves sports, which is just fine in my book. Hopefully she sticks around for quite some time.
Watch her in action: here she is rocking out...or something on SportsNation.
I don't watch a lot of—or any—alpine skiing, but I'm at least now aware of it, and that's really half the battle.
Pictured above is Julia Mancuso raising awareness.
Julia Mancuso is accomplished in her sport, having won a gold medal in the giant slalom at the 2006 Winter Olympics.
Watch her in action: here she is going really fast downhill.
Danica Patrick burst onto the scene in 2005, even leading the Indianapolis 500 at one point and finishing fourth—both things a woman had never done.
Then she started doing ridiculous Go Daddy commercials and posing half naked, which is fine by me, but I don't know if that helps people take you seriously.
Watch her in action: here she is running over one of her crewman. That's got to hurt.
Alana Blanchard has been kicking ass at surfing since 2007, having won numerous awards, and she was even featured in the 2011 film Soul Surfer, which recounts the time her friend and fellow surfer Bethany Hamilton got her freaking arm bitten off by a shark.
Now let's all continue looking at Blanchard's picture and never go in the ocean again.
Watch her in action: here she is surfing and talking about stuff.
I don't know at what point of your life you decide you want to be a pole vaulter, but I'm sure glad that Russian beauty Yelena Isinbayeva decided to make a career out of leaping over a very high pole.
I wonder if she would use a ladder to get on a roof...Just thinking out loud.
Watch her in action: Here she is setting a world record at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
I don't watch a whole lot of women's golf, especially after the Michelle Wie debacle, but had I known that Anna Rawson was on the tour, I might have kept watching.
She turned pro in 2004, and though she hasn't made a lot of noise on the tour, she's certainly made a name for herself off of it.
As you can see, posing in your underwear will do that.
Watch her in action: here she is giving golf lessons.
Caroline Wozniacki has been around since 2005, and if it wasn't for Maria Sharapova, she would probably be more recognized.
It could have been her in all those commercials! But I'm not complaining.
She's currently the world's No. 1 women's tennis player, and at the age of 21, she could be for quite some time.
Watch her in action: here she is getting a serious case of the cramps.
When Lindsey Vonn isn't out alpine skiing, she's walking around in the snow in nothing but her underwear—that's just how she gets down.
She was already competing in the Olympics in 2002 at the age of 17 and had already won a silver medal the following year at the Junior World Championship, making her as talented as she is beautiful.
She's still just 26, so surely we'll be seeing more of her.
Watch her in action: here she is during a Sports Illustrated photoshoot, which is much more fun to watch than alpine skiing.
Hope Solo found herself in the public spotlight in 2007 after being benched in the semifinal match against Brazil in favor of 37-year-old veteran Brianna Scurry.
She flipped out, and rightfully so, but the name Hope Solo was cemented into many a man's head from that point on. It also helped that she was hot.
Watch her in action: here she is explaining to David Letterman what the hell went wrong in the World Cup final against Japan.
Unfortunately, ESPN analyst Erin Andrews will forever be known as the woman who was secretly videotaped through a peephole in 2009, but once we all got passed that—and looked at the pictures—we're now more concerned with debating who's hotter: her or Michelle Beadle.
For the record, I got my money on Beadle.
Watch her in action: here she is getting down on Dancing with the Stars.
Being much hotter than all of Tiger Woods' mistresses wasn't enough for him to keep it in his pants, and that's a shame—his loss, I suppose.
It's all good, though. She's now the $750 million woman. And I'm a firm believer that money can buy happiness.
I'm glad that this divorce, and the ridiculous amount of press that it received, is behind us now.
Watch her in action: there really aren't any videos of her available, so take a look at this guy/sorcerer who thinks he's Elin Nordegren.
Derek Jeter has had a lot of—and I mean a lot of—hot girlfriends, but I've chosen to remember actress Minka Kelley since (1) she's gorgeous, (2) she was with Derek during the Yankees' World Series win in 2009 (their last of the decade), and (3) she's still with him.
I trust there will be no argument.
Watch her in action: here's a heartbreaking scene with her and that guy I'm told women think is hot from Friday Night Lights.
I still blame her for my Cowboys losing to the Giants in the 2007 playoffs, and if she wasn't so hot, I would have erased her from my memory at that point.
Why did she and Tony Romo have to go to Mexico on the weekend before the big game?
Watch her in action: here she is looking guilty after blowing it up in the bathroom. Oh, you think I'm playing?
Elisha Cuthbert used to date hockey player Sean Avery, and thanks to his "sloppy seconds" comment—also, because she's hot—we'll always remember her as one of the most memorable WAGs of the 2000s.
She's now married to Maple Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf.
Watch her in action: Here she is featured in the only scenes you'll ever need to watch from the movie, "The Girl Next Door".
Next to Anna Kournikova, Maria Sharapova is considered to be the hottest and most recognizable female tennis star in the world right now.
But unlike Anna Kournikova, Sharapova's actually pretty good, having reached world's No. 1, as opposed to Kournikova's highest ranking of No. 8.
However, ever since she got with the NBA's Sasha Vujacic, I've been questioning her sanity.
Watch her in action: now let's listen to her grunt, though this one's weirder than usual.
Stacy Keibler is a former WWE wrestler who now is a host on WWE's Tough Enough.
I personally don't consider professional wrestling a sport—not the WWE version, anyway—but I'd certainly call her an athlete.
And she's hot, man!
Watch her in action: Here she is in the WWE's first ever lingerie pillow fight match. If your head didn't explode, feel free to watch the video.
Also, I think this video might be a sign of the apocalypse.
She was voted ESPNs "Hottest Female Athlete" in 2004, and she also was in the 2005 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Also, she has two gold medals with the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team.
I'd say that was a pretty good career.
Watch her in action: Here she is as her alter ego, Under Armour Recovery Suit Woman, just before she broke through a brick wall and conquered the city.
Brooklyn Decker is best known for her numerous appearances in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues, but she's also married to tennis star—I'm using the word "star" loosely—Andy Roddick.
He's now going bald, I suspect as a result of the stress that comes with constantly being in shock at his wife's booty—ahem, I mean beauty.
Watch her in action: here she is during a 2009 Sports Illustrated shoot.
Kim Kardashian has a thing for athletes, and sex tapes, but she looks to have settled on Kris Humphries, and NBA player for the New Jersey Nets.
But we'll remember her for her relationships with Reggie Bush and Miles Austin. And, of course, for that ass.
Watch her in action: Here is TMZ discussing, what they call, "The Great Ass Debate." Is Kim Kardashian's ass for real, or is it a mythical creature?
Anna Kournikova is known more for being half naked than for playing tennis, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
She pretty much quit playing tennis competitively around 2004, but that just gave her more time to take sexy pictures, and that helped made this last decade quite a memorable one for me.
Watch her in action: here she is at a Maxim cover shoot.
There was a time when we were lucky enough to see Eva Longoria at NBA games, then stupid Tony Parker had to go and cheat on her. Now what am I supposed to look at?
The couple lasted just three years, from 2007-2010, but those were three memorable years for us all.
Watch her in action: here she is at a Maxim photoshoot.
Gisele Bundchen is proof that the hottest women come from Brazil.
She's one of the most notable models of the decade, and she's married to Tom Brady, who was easily the best QB of the 2000s, and together they form one of the decades sexiest couples.
Watch her in action: here she is strutting her stuff down the catwalk.
Whoever took this picture is a genius, having captured what could be one of the sexiest natural poses of any athlete, ever.
She's currently a senior at UC Berkeley, which is only a couple blocks from me. Maybe I'll go watch one of their track meets.
No, that would be weird. I'll just look at pictures of her on the Internet.
Watch her in action: Here she is doing what she does best. She apparently has "a weird way of going over that bar," but I really wouldn't know the difference.
I've never actually forgotten my name when introducing myself to a woman—I farted once, but it was silent, so she didn't know—but there's a first time for everything, and I think I'd forget my name when meeting Kiira.
I won't even pretend to act like I watch figure skating, because I don't and likely never will, but if I did, it would only be to watch Kiira Korpi.
Watch her in action: Here she is...dying, I think, during a workout. She looks hot, though. I've never laughed so hard while being aroused.
Serbian tennis player Ana Ivanovic is only 23, and already she has achieved the world's No. 1 ranking in 2008, which has earned her the right to casually rest against a couch in a sexual manner.
That's how it works.
She still has plenty of years left in her, and something tells me she'll be on the list for next decade as well.
Watch her in action: here she is having a cannonball competition with a fat guy. Needless to say, he wins.
What a strange video...
She's my favorite Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, having been featured in the 2009 issue, and anytime I see an opening to feature her in a slide, I take it.
This is me seizing the opportunity.
Watch her in action: Here she is being interviewed by David Letterman, which is just always a good time.
And if that doesn't do it for you, here she is during a photoshoot on the ocean.
Adriana Lima is forever going to be known as "the hot model who could have done better," in my eyes, as she married Serbian basketball player Marco Jaric.
The only good that came from it was that we were able to stick her in every WAG article that we wrote, and we'll continue to do so forever.
Watch her in action: here she is in a Victoria Secret ad looking hotter than usual, which is saying a lot.
Leryn Franco is a Paraguayan model and javelin thrower, which she does primarily to smite her enemies—well, I would.
I know some of you will want to see her higher on this list, but if I were stranded on a desert island, I would rather have one of the following women.
They're not masters of sharp objects.
Watch her in action: I figured you'd rather watch her during her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit shoot than throwing a javelin, so here you go.
