Manchester United Transfer Rumors 2011

0 of 4

Manchester United is throwing out the cash to ensure that they become the English Premier League Champions again this season, and odds are looking to be in their favor.  The team has already made a few pricey purchases in David De Gea, Ashley Young, and Phil Jones for a total of 57.7 million Euros.

The team is currently tied for third place with the Wolverhampton Wanderers and are dealing with a few injured defensive players.  Rio Ferdinand is suffering from a hamstring injury, Nemanja Vidic sustained a calf injury during the game and Rafael De Silva will be out for 10 weeks with a shoulder injury he received in training.

The Phil Jones acquisition will add depth to the backfield in replacement for the three injured starters.

Rumor has it that Borussia Dortmund's Mario Gotze will be heading to the Red Devils. According to The Express, Man U has switched gears from acquiring Inter Milan's Wesley Sneijder to Gotze.

It looks like they are willing to cough up 20 million Euros for the midfielder.

Despite rumors from The Express that Man U has moved on from Wesley Sneijder, European website The Sun has continuously reported that Inter Milan's playmaker Wesley Sneijder is serious about the transfer.

Apparently, Sneijder lowered his salary demand in attempts to make sure he becomes a Red Devil this season.

Mame Biram Diouf

The forward Mame Biram Diouf has not lived up to the expectation that Sir Alex Ferguson set when he got the player in 2009.  Recently, Diouf was sent to Blackburn on loan and continued to be less than stellar.

Britain's The Daily Mail claims that Sir Alex Ferguson put a 6 million Euro price on Diouf but will consider offers from other clubs to get rid of the forward.

Regardless of the current injuries or whether a deal actually works out with Wesley Sneijder, Manchester United is set up to win the English Premier League.

Once the three injured defenders are back on the field, matched with De Gea, the Red Devils will be set to take their 20th title.
