Saints Pushing for the Endzone
Drew Brees looks like he is ready to respond to the Texans challenge. He has commanded his offense and continues to drive the ball downfield.
A deep pass by Brees, with blown coverage by Texans' CB Jason Allen, put the Saints into the redzone. Allen, who is competing with Kareem Jackson for the starting spot, is hurting his chances with plays like that.
On a busted Saints play Kareem Jackson got into a pushing match with WR Devery Henderson. Henderson took some shots to Jackson's helmet and the Saints were hit with a 15-yard penalty.
A few plays later, as the Saints were about to score, a timeout was called by Sean Payton and the resulting touchdown was negated. However, a few plays later the Saints gave the ball to rookie RB Mark Ingram and he plowed his way into the endzone for seven.
Houston 14 - Saints 7
