The Iowa Hawkeyes will host the Purdue Boilermakers Saturday morning—just one week after they upset the undefeated Penn State Nittany Lions. This game, however, will be a special one for the Hawkeyes as the seniors will play their last game at Kinnick Stadium.
Led by senior defensive tackles Mitch King and Matt Kroul, the Hawkeyes boast one of the most feared defenses in the Big Ten. The stellar defensive tackle combination has combined for 94 tackles (15.5 tackles for loss), five sacks, and a forced fumble.
Purdue looks to counter this Iowa defense with its stellar passing offense, which is third in the Big Ten.
Not only does Purdue have a good passing offense, but senior running back Kory Sheets has added another dimension, rushing for over 1,000 yards and 13 touchdowns.
While Kory Sheets has been a great back, Iowa running back Shonn Greene has stepped up his game and is dominating the opposition. Purdue will look to slow down Greene, who has rushed for over 100 yards in all 10 of Iowa's games this season. He is the only player in all of college football to have accomplished that feat.
The Hawkeyes have been known for their defense this season, but they are currently scoring 28 points per game on the offensive side of the ball.
The Hawkeyes will be ready for this game, and if they play like they did against Penn State they could dominate on this, the last contest to be played in Iowa City in 2008.
