Just like last year, the Washington Wizards stop there losing streak at 0-5. The Wizards defeated the Utah Jazz 95-87 Wednesday night, behind 27 points from Caron Butler and 21 points from Antawn Jamison.

The Wizards played with more focus and held the Jazz to 43% shooting from the floor. The Wizards contested most shots and rookie JaVale McGee blocked three and altered many others.

McGee might have been the key to win as he came off the bench and played 27 minutes. McGee played around the basket collecting 13 points and 11 rebounds. The athletic rookie earned praise from Carlos Boozer, who said “I was impressed”.

Deron Williams returned to the Jazz lineup after missing the last six games. While his shot looked rusty he was still able to facilitate the Jazz offense with 6 assists.

Washington continues to play with out Gilbert Arenas or Brendan Haywood. While better play at the point might have to wait until Arenas returns the Wizards might have found a solid center in McGee.
