Preseason College Football Rankings 2011: Just a Touch of Andrew Luck
Stanford has become known for more than its academics nowadays. All they needed to jump-start their program again was a little bit of luck.
And look at the man who brought it: Andrew Luck.
In 2010, Luck led Stanford to 11 wins and dismantled Virginia Tech 40-12 in the Orange Bowl. Now, in 2011, the Cardinals will need Luck to do his job in more ways than one.
Former head coach Jim Harbaugh has left for the head coaching job with the San Francisco 49ers, and new coach David Shaw is sure to experience some growing pains as the new head coach. Perhaps the biggest question of this team will be what kinds of changes Shaw will bring to a team that won the Orange Bowl. Hopefully not too much, as you undoubtedly have the best player in the Pac-10, and one of the best in the nation.
There's no doubt that Stanford will contend, but how they do will depend upon Shaw's coaching ability and how he handles Luck.
