Preseason College Football Rankings 2011: Probations Leave Ohio State Thinner
The Ohio State Buckeyes got more than they bargained for this off-season with Terrelle Pryor's violations prompting the resignation of coach Jim Tressel. Now, interim head coach Luke Fickell must rally what now looks like a deflated team and find a way to salvage a wild off-season that may have put the them out of national championship contention. It's hard to somehow replace your star quarterback three weeks before the season and pick up the slack of a championship winning coach.
Fickell will have his work cut out for him, and how they play will hinge upon the penalties the NCAA will be sure to enforce, not to mention the play of the back-up quarterback, who has yet to be named. The defense will certainly be strong enough, especially at linebacker under the coaching of Mike Vrabel.
