Fantasy Baseball 2011: Waiver-Wire Finds Who Will Be Keys To Titles

0 of 8

Well its almost that time again, fantasy baseball championships.  As we move closer to the end of the regular season the fantasy season is ending too, so we are all scouring the free agent wire to plug holes and carry us to a championship.  Good thing I am here to help you out and let you know of a couple gems that are most likely sitting on your waiver wire.  These are some players who are owned in less than 50 percent of Yahoo! leagues that must be rostered.

Mike Carp 1B, Outfield

1 of 8

Mike Carp has been on a tear lately going 25 for his last 65 (.385) with four homers and 18 RBI during a 16-game hitting streak.  He is still only owned in 37 percent of Yahoo! leagues.  That number is ridiculously low and soon will skyrocket, so it might as well be you picking him up, before your other league mate does.

Johnny Giavotella 2B

2 of 8

I know you need help in your middle infield and 4 percent owned Johnny Giavotella is batting .333 (14-for-42) since being called up August 5 with a homer and four RBI.  He has also stolen four bases and it's always nice getting speed from your middle infielders.

Yuniesky Betancourt SS

3 of 8

Another middle infielder that has been on a tear lately is Yuniesky Betancourt.  The SS for the Brewers has quietly just finished a six-game hit streak and has three hits twice in his past 10 games.  He is currently only 35 percent owned so if you need help at your SS position, he's probably available.

Edwin Encarnacion 1B, 3B

4 of 8

Edwin Encarnacion has been red hot dating back all the way to July 31 and is still only 43 percent owned.  He just hit his 12th homer of the season in the second inning of Wednesday's 5-1 win at Seattle to extend his streak of reach base safely to 16 consecutive games dating back to July 31. During that span, he is batting .385 (20-for-52) with four doubles, four home runs and a .515 on-base percentage.  (Yahoo! Sports)  That kind of production should not be on your free agent wire.

Jesus Guzman 1B

5 of 8

We all were waiting for Adrian Gonzalez' replacement 1B for San Diego, we just all thought it was going to be Anthony Rizzo, not Jesus Guzman.  After Rizzo's failed experiment, Jesus Guzman has quietly put together quite a campaign.  Post All-Star break he is hitting .367 with four HR and 27 RBI.  It is quite odd to think that he is only 37 percent owned in Yahoo! leagues.  Hmm could you use those stats, I think so.

Josh Willingham Outfield

6 of 8

Josh Willingham is a very streaky player.  His streaks he does go on are quite nice though.  He has at least one hit in seven of his last 10 games which includes four home runs.  That power is much needed in fantasy leagues but he is only 34 percent owned in Yahoo! leagues.  Pick him up and ride his power to a championship.

Dexter Fowler Outfield

7 of 8

In the past 30 days Dexter Fowler is hitting .339 with 22 runs and five stolen bases.  Why oh why is he only 26 percent owned in Yahoo! leagues?  There is only eight players in the league who have scored more runs in that time span.  Yeah he's playing better than that guy, and that guy, so go pick him up.

Jose Constanza Outfield

8 of 8

We all knew there was gonna be a talented young outfielder playing this season in Atlanta.  Too bad it's not Jason Heyward, it's Jose Constanza.  Since gaining the starting spot he has been on fire.  Hitting .385 with two HR and five SB since being called up on July 29 are pretty sick numbers.  He has proved in his past 18 games that he can play at the major league level and will help you win your championship since he is only 27 percent owned.  Get him on your team and get into first place.

So there ya go, now go grab all those players and ride them to the fantasy glory that you deserve.
