Rookie Jamar Ransom Moves up to the AFL
Oklahoma State University alum Jamar Ransom is a hard-hitting linebacker famous for punishing his opponents sideline to sideline.

Ransom spent the 2007 season with the Tulsa Talons of Arena Football 2, winning the Arena Cup Championship, and he was one of six players to make their way up to the AFL.

After speaking with Jamar, I discovered that he his no walk-in-the-park football player.  He spoke in depth about what he stood for.

Which linebacker does he most admire, and what would he like to ask to him?

Jamar says he keeps his eye on Ray.  He’d like to ask Lewis about what helps him to shine, even in his darkest hour.  Jamar says Lewis is a very compelling and inspiring player.

Who does he most admire and why?

Jamar admires his mother and father (who grew up in Oakland, CA) for their resilience.

All Q-Dogs, Chad Ruffin, Jermaine Hope, Jermaine Landrum, Joe Johnson and childhood friends Ryan Thornton and Daniel Haywood.

If he were alone on an island for 30 days with no food, what three things would he need in order to survive?

His Bible, a family picture, and a lighter to start a fire.

Who in the AFL would you most like to play against?

Jeff Hughley of the Colorado Crush because he has the ability to really open up the game and he is a challenger on special team. Also Mike Shack of the Grand Rapids Rampage (who is a big trash talker), Steve Watson of the San Jose Sabercats, and Sonnie Cumbie of the LA Avengers.

Has he ever tried yoga?

Yes…he practices yoga twice a week.

Who has made the biggest impression on you?

The coaching staff at Andress High School in El Paso, Texas.
