Down goes Penn State from my #1 position. Tough way to lose a national title shot.

Even with one loss they have come along way from previous seasons. I like how good they have been playing.

The Nittany Lions national title hopes have been all but lost after they were upset by Iowa last week.

Lost at Iowa was a bad one for sure. But they are still a good and over achieving team.

(9-1) Next Game: Saturday vs. Indiana

Was rooting for the loss at Iowa, but I'm not going to drop this team below the undefeated BCS-busters.
Matt Poloni #7
The Nittany Lions are the best team in the Big Ten. Unfortunately for them, that doesn't go very far anymore.

Heartbreaking loss in a trap game. Looking to get back on track this coming weekend. They can still smell roses!

(previous: 3) 9-1; lost to Iowa 23-24 As the Beavers are to the Trojans, and the Missy State Bulldogs are to the Gators, so the Hawkeyes are to the Nittany Lions. *Dangerous*. The loss, though slim, is a potentially fatal blow to PSU's title hopes, unless there is mass carnage in the last three weeks of the regular season. A lot of things would have to go Joe Pa's way for him to end up in Miami instead of Pasadena. And depending on the result vs. No. 17 Michigan State, even Pasadena isn't a given.

Losing late in the season hurts, especially to an unranked Iowa team.
Ryan Raber #8
The JoePa sendoff train hits a gravel patch.
Michael Shibley #8
Sorry Joe Pa. When your team is flat on the road you get caught.
Gene Slater #8
How did you lose to Iowa? Very disappointing.
Burgess Shaw #8
Nat'l Championship hopes are pretty much over.

Sorry Joe, you're out of it now. Take a note -- don't schedule Iowa after a bye week. Its the third time in a row Penn State has lost to them after a weekend off. If they can beat #15 Michigan State on 11-22, they might still play in a BCS bowl game.

National Title hopes are gone from Penn State, and I wouldn't be shocked if Michigan State (who has an extra week to prepare) can knock them into third in the Big 10.

That was just an INEXCUSABLE LOSS to Iowa, on Saturday!
Brad Shipley #10

So...what can you say about the Nittany Lions? They fought the good fight on Saturday only to prove that their road woes will continue at least for another week. With the loss to Iowa, JoePa could possibly be walking away without a NC appearance in this decade.
Stephen Jeffries #12
I've been saying all year they wouldn't go 12-0. Their schedule is weak (as is the Big 10), but they could still end up in Rose Bowl.
Peter R #13
The worst one loss team in any major conference. They have no wins against quality opponents. Playing for a chance to be overpaid to play in a meaningless Rose Bowl.
