Still the Best. With possibly the best quarterback and probably the best receiver in the nation.

They are undefeated. In the best conference and beat arguably the second best team in Texas. The next few weeks we will find out if they really belong at number one.
Ron Johnson #1
They had two big challenges left this season. They took care of Oklahoma State over the weekend in huge fashion. Now they have to face Oklahoma in less than a week. Regardless, to not have them at #1 would be an insult to every college football writer and fan worldwide.

Alabama's wins keep losing value. Tech's get better and better. Plus, I'll take Harrell over JP Wilson.

After totally dominating Oklahoma State 56-20, Texas Tech is definitely the CLEAR CUT #1. I don't think anyone can question that!
Raul Velarde #1
They beat a very tough OSU defense and a very good Texas team overall.

This year the Big 12 is the best conference in college football. An undefeated team with two Heisman candidates in the country's strongest conference should be No. 1 in the polls.

Beat the number one team in the nation, followed by another top ten team this week.

Only one test left before the Big 12 Title Game, Oklahoma on the 22nd.

Three big convincing wins in a row for the Red Raiders...then #23 Kansas, then #1 Texas, and then #9 Oklahoma State. The offense is averaging 47.9 points per game! If Tech can beat Oklahoma on Saturday, a national championship game trip is theirs.
Michael Shibley #1
If they are not No. 1 now with this offense...they will be if they win in Norman.
Sooner03 #1
Can they be stopped? Even as a Sooner fan I'm scared...They are scary good. The most impressive thing about this team...the O line and the quick feet of Harrell to buy that extra time...to get it to their all-star recievers. Can they step up in Norman? The D has always, always been the weakness..but they are playing their hearts out. OSU looked anemic against the tech D...thats what scares me the most!

By far the best team in the land.

Texas Tech is looking very strong offensively and defense improves every week.

Back to back wins over Texas and Oklahoma State show that this team is for real; will they be able to beat Oklahoma and secure the Big 12 South Championship

Have the two best players in football with Harrell and Crabtree, average margin of victory is 26 points a game, average 566 yards of offense a game. #2 in the BIG 12 in rushing defense, #1 in interceptions. 58% success rate on 3rd down is impressive as well. Could be the greatest Big 12 team of all-time.

Red Raiders are hot right now coming off two huge in-conference wins against Texas and Oklahoma State.

If they beat Oklahoma, they are a shoe-in for the BCS Championship.
Ryan Raber #2
Added major credibility with a blasting of a strong Oklahoma State team
Jeff Johnson #2
The Red Raiders made their case of #1 by picking apart then #9 Oklahoma State. They'll get a real test on November 22nd at Oklahoma.

Texas Tech has a really, really good offense, and a pretty good defense, probably underrated. Will Oklahoma upset the Red Raiders? It's very possible Oklahoma can hang with TT offensively, and if the Sooners can play a little defense this could get very interesting.
Jason Hackney #2
Dominant performance against the Cowboys. Can they keep it going all the way through the Big 12 championship?

The college football gods haven't caught up this offensive powerhouse, yet. However, Oklahoma could shake things up with a win against the Red Raiders on November 22nd.

A win over Oklahoma will put Tech over their rivals from austin, but it has yet to be seen.

Harrell still favorite for Heisman after destruction of Cowboys.

(previous: 2) 10-0; beat No. 9 Oklahoma State 56-20 A stark contrast to their fellow table-toppers, the Red Raiders are coach Mike Leach's own personal aerial assault force. There's something about this team that makes me nervous about them finishing undefeated; it's as if it's been too smooth (except against Texas) and with the breaks falling their way. But all credit to them for being here at this point. Next week is a bye, followed by a sterner test than Texas (!): @ No. 4 Oklahoma on Nov. 22.
