The story doesn't say if the unknown illness will be revealed, which means fans could be left with more questions than answers.
The only thing we know for sure is that Maclin was diagnosed with mononucleosis.
It certainly sounds like Maclin's family knows what has been ailing the leading receiver on the Eagles. Andre told Steve Geenberg of the Sporting News, "They kind of have us on a gag order until tomorrow. ... But he’s fine, he’s fine. That much I can say.”
Greenberg asked Andre if he expects his brother to play with the Eagles this season and said, “I’m confident about that as well.”
The report also said Maclin returned to St. Louis to undergo further tests for his illness.
Fans should not be concerned about getting all of the answers about Maclin's health Tuesday, because they probably won't get all of the details. Maclin isn't dealing with a busted knee or strained muscle. He's dealing with something personal and it's going to be interesting to see how fans react to the privacy of this situation given that we live in an era where we know everything about everyone.
The only thing fans can hope for is that Maclin is healthy and that he can return to the Eagles soon.
With him on the field the Eagles could have one of the best offenses in the NFL. Without him it leaves the Eagles without 70 receptions, 964 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.
