WWE SummerSlam 2011: Scenarios for Every Title Heading into Night of Champions

0 of 6

WWE has finished up at SummerSlam 2011 after an eventful night, and now we move on to the fall set of pay-per-view events. The first event will be Night of Champions, in Buffalo on September 18.

This event has a distinction for having every WWE championship belt defended at it, and this year should be no different.

Here are the scenarios for every title coming off of SummerSlam and moving toward Night of Champions.

Divas Championship

1 of 6

    Current Champion: Kelly Kelly

Kelly Kelly proved at SummerSlam that she is a legitimate champion, defeating Beth Phoenix when most thought she would be handily beaten in a quick match.

The roll up win for Kelly was a last ditch effort to escape the Glamslam by Phoenix as she was poised to take away the Divas belt from Kelly.

At Night of Champions, these two will lock up again as you will probably see Phoenix call Kelly's win a fluke for weeks leading up to the event.

Don't forget that each of their sidekicks will be on hand for the festivities as well as Eve stays in the corner of the champion and Natalya will be in the corner of "The Glamazon."

Tag Team Championship

2 of 6

Current Champions: David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty

The WWE Tag Team division has been run down for years and management knows it.

There is a report that is circling the web about Triple H's desire to sign former tag teams from ROH and TNA.

For now, we still have to suffer a division that doesn't have much on the table in terms of story lines or movement of any kind.

For now, we will still have Otunga and McGillicutty as champions and unless we get some competition soon, we probably won't care about a title change at all, even if it's to main event guys teaming up.

At Night of Champions, expect a match with probably The Usos or Zach Ryder and Santino.

Intercontinental Championship

3 of 6

    Current Champion: Cody Rhodes

Rhodes recently won the title off of Ezekiel Jackson on an episode of SmackDown.

Jackson will get his rematch, and could be pushed back to Night of Champions.

Another possibility is to have Daniel Bryan feud with Rhodes over the belt so that Bryan doesn't lose any steam that is remaining off of his loss to Wade Barrett.

If Big Zeke gets his rematch on SmackDown, you can be sure that there will be a fall feud between Rhodes and Bryan over the Intercontinental Championship.  A Money in the Bank briefcase holder has been Intercontinental Champion before, remember Rob Van Dam?

United States Championship

4 of 6

    Current Champion: Dolph Ziggler

With Ziggler's focus on the possible split up of him and Vickie Guererro, the man to look out for here is Alex Riley.

Their feud has been growing and without a long contested match, there will surely be one soon and it will probably be at Night of Champions.

Dolph Ziggler will fight like a man and go one-on-one with A-Ri.

Riley has earned his shot and he could already be inside the champion's head.

    Advantage Riley?

World Heavyweight Championship

5 of 6

    Current Champion: Randy Orton

Randy Orton went through a war with Christian at SummerSlam and won the World Title.

Christian will get his rematch but this feud is over.  Expect Orton to carry the belt for the next little while and with a No. 1 contenders spot vacant, the man who could surely take it is Mark Henry.

He blasted former WWE Champion Sheamus through a barricade and looks to be unstoppable.

If they are looking to put a threat in front of Orton, Henry is the obvious answer here.  Orton vs. Henry at Night of Champions, mark your calendars.

WWE Championship

6 of 6

    Current Champion: Alberto Del Rio

Before SummerSlam, we had two WWE Champions.  Now, we have one champion and a slew of rematch clauses to fill.

CM Punk beat John Cena and then Del Rio beat Punk.

Lost in all this is the fact that Rey Mysterio will cash in his rematch on RAW.  After that, Cena and Punk have claim to a WWE Championship rematch and Night of Champions could play host to a multi-man match for the WWE Title.

If Mysterio wins, Miz might enter the scene and destroy Mysterio, much like he did last week.  It would also leave Del Rio with a rematch of his own to claim.

All in all, at Night of Champions, either Del Rio will defend the WWE Championship against Cena and Punk in a triple threat match or Mysterio will defend it against Punk, Cena, Del Rio and Miz.

    Scramble Match anyone?

    What do you think?
