The Cincinnati Bengals (0-0) visit the Detroit Lions (0-0) at Ford Field in Detroit.  This is a matchup between the smash mouth AFC North vs. the pass happy NFC North.  A true clash of opposite NFL cultures.

Which one will prevail?

The Bengals will be without some familiar faces.  The retirement of Carson Palmer, the free agency loss of cornerback Jonathan Joseph, the trade of WR Chad Ochocinco to the New England Patriots and hitting the delete key on Terrell Owens.

The Bengals have rebounded nicely in the draft, taking WR A.J. Green, QB Andy Dalton, LB Dontay Moch and OG Clint Boling.

For the Lions, the story is about injuries to their three top draft picks.  DT Nick Fairley (broken foot), WR Titus Young (hamstring) and RB Mikel LeShoure (ruptured achilles).

The other big Lions story is free agency where the Lions acquired LB Stephen Tulloch, LB Justin Durant and CB Eric Wright to bolster the defensive back seven.
