Steelers vs. Redskins: Dennis Dixon Deserved a Better Chance to Show His Skills

Charlie Batch and Byron Leftwich gained little from this football game, Dennis Dixon would have gained more.
Dennis Dixon was not all that impressive when he filled in in the regular season for Ben Roethlisberger last year. He may have come to camp late because of his contract situation but that should not have demoted him to playing in the fourth quarter.
The only thing Charlie Batch would have gained from being on the field is a test to see if he would break or not. Byron Leftwich is a veteran that didn't need anything more than a series or two just to work out any kinks. I understand the concept of putting in the veteran quarterbacks to not hinder any of the players around them but Dixon is no rookie.
Dixon didn't look too interested when he came into the game in the fourth quarter and I can't really blame him. There was little he could do with the disastrous offensive line makeup in front of him.
Dixon is very talented but, it must be very demoralizing to not be getting any sort of look in at this stage in his career. It's not like he's been a bum so far.
