Leafs Are Like a Box of Chocolates: You Never Know What You're Gonna Get

Sean PaddisonCorrespondent INovember 11, 2008

Well, the Leafs play Calgary tonight and to be honest I haven't got a clue what to expect.

I'm hoping to see more of what was on display in the Montreal game on Saturday. However, as history shows, the Leafs can trend towards a loss of focus after playing a great game or period even. Then again, there have been a few occasions where they have followed up with a decent performance.

Tonight, I'm just not feeling a vibe either way. My hope is that they may have solved the "two goal hole" problem, but I guess we will just have to wait and see. I'm hoping Jason Blake can start to emerge soon, too. I really think he could use a good run of games with goals. But then again, who couldn't?

These are the sorts of games that really need a spark plug to ignite the team early. Perhaps something like Schenn getting into a fight, or merely a cheap hit on Kaberle can get the troops riled up. It would definitely be a very helpful aid for a game such as tonight's.

Calgary is hungry to find itself, and the Leafs are an easy target. There’s nothing like a bunch of Leafs fans in Calgary's rink to get its players hackled up.

Well, I sure wouldn't bet a cent on this game; it’s just too foggy of a prospect. I'd like to see Toskala get a shutout really soon to lift his and most importantly his team's confidence.

I guess we can only wait and see.
