Brazil and Spain will square off in an epic quarterfinal match that will doom one side and send the other one step closer to tasting victory.
The two sides encountered completely different matches in the Round of 16, as Brazil had a cakewalk against Saudi Arabia while Spain nearly tasted defeat for the first time in this tournament.
Spain breezed through the group stages and finished with a goal differential of plus-9 after their first three games. However, they were shut out by South Korea, who played incredible defense for the entire match and pushed the match to penalty kicks.
Spain escaped with an intense 7-6 victory in penalty kicks, setting up a premier match between them and Brazil.
Spain would have been the favorite entering this match after how dominant they were in the group stages, but with a lackluster performance against South Korea, Brazil may now be considered the favorite.
Either way, there will be two huge stars on display in this match. Spain's Alvaro Vazquez led the tournament in scoring entering the second round of play and has certainly taken advantage of the opportunity to show off his talents.
Brazil will feature star player Philippe Coutinho, who is currently signed with Serie A club Inter Milan. He is certainly one of the stars of this tournament and will be hoping to make an impact against Spain.
