The Dolphins underachieved in 2010, going just 7-9 (third in the AFC East) and missing the playoffs for the second consecutive season.
Meanwhile, the Falcons cruised to the top of the NFC South, finishing the year with a 13-3 record and claiming the NFC's No. 1 seed, a first-round bye and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
Surprisingly, Atlanta fell at home in the divisional round to the eventual Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers; the Dolphins have won the same amount of postseason games as the Falcons dating back to 2005 (zero).
There is plenty to look forward to for the future, however, as Friday night's game will give fans a better look at the newest Dolphin, Reggie Bush, and rookie Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones.
