Many of you out there probably like the job Jerry Jones has done as the teams' owner and General Manager of the Dallas Cowboys.

Yes, he has had success, but his questionable decisions have brought nothing but despair and no hope to the Dallas Cowboys' Nation. Instead we grumble about coaching, we grumble about players, and we want change.

We get excuses and denial about the real state of this team from its illustrious owner and GM. We get some help in the way of new coaches and new players. But the problem remains—Jerry is the thorn that still runs the show down in Dallas.

Because of this, no matter who they bring in for any kind of change, they can't get it done. Coaches have no say over the state of the team, which is why Jerry so many times has hired from within.

No real coach will lead that team if Jerry Jones is calling all the shots. It's not worth the grief and aggravation, but what's worse is we are forced to suffer for the stupidity of our owner.

So how can real change begin to occur down in Dallas? It can start with Jones stepping down as GM or being forced out as owner and GM. Perhaps allowing his son Stephen to take control of the team and allow him to do the things that his father never wanted to do. Maybe hire a real GM.

This would bring in better quality coaches, more discipline, and better players. While it may mean having to start back at square one, it's better than living off the delusion that this team is only a player or two away from winning the Super Bowl, when they are not even close to that accomplishment.
