All summer long, Inter have tried to dismiss the rumors that Wesley Sneijder will be sold from the club. Until this point, Sneijder had played things cautiously, stating that he loved Inter, but that he was not sure if he would remain at the club.

However, Sneijder has recently revealed his true feelings: that he wishes to play for Manchester United. He has also stated that the two clubs have had unofficial talks about a transfer.

This news will certainly come as a blow to Inter fans. Sneijder has been the talisman of Inter’s success since he joined the club in 2009. There were doubts raised when Gian Piero Gasperini was named manager of Inter, as to whether or not Sneijder could fit into his system. Gasperini’s preferred formation is to play 3-4-3, which does not have a place for a person to play the trequartista spot. This of course is the position that Sneijder has excelled in.

In the Super Cup last Saturday, Gasperini adjusted his formation by playing a 3-5-1-1 formation to fit Sneijder in. In the first half, the Nerazzuri performed well and took the lead into the break.

Despite the fact the manager was willing to change his tactics, the prospects of the Dutchman leaving the club appear to be as strong as ever.

Samuel Eto’o is another player that is rumored to be on his way out of the club, and the latest club trying to buy him has come completely out of nowhere. They are a Russian side known as Anzhi. Allegedly, Anzhi are very close to getting Eto’o, but at a heavy price. Reports have stated that it may cost Anzhi over $30 million to buy him. Losing Eto’o would be also be disappointing to Inter, as he was the second leading goal scorer for the club.

However, if Inter do sell Eto’o it is likely that they will use the money to pursue Carlos Tevez, the prolific Argentine striker.
