France vs. Chile: Schedule, News and Latest Updates for Soccer Friendly

This week is one of the biggest of the year for friendlies, as nearly every national team has a competitive friendly set up.

France vs. Chile is just one of many friendlies that will be featured this week, along with Italy vs. Spain, United States vs. Mexico and Germany vs. Brazil.

France will be without starting defender Patrice Evra, who injured his knee in Manchester United's Community Shield victory over Manchester City on Sunday.

Ironically, Evra is set to be replaced in the match by his opponent from the Community Shield. Manchester City's Gael Clichy will step in and get his chance to shine with the national team against Chile.

One of the big attractions of the game will be Samir Nasri, who has been in talks to have his contract transferred to Manchester City and join Gael Clichy, but that has not happened as of yet.

Just recently, Laurent Blanc announced that he wants Nasri to ditch Arsenal as soon as possible for the greener pastures of Manchester City. Here is what Blanc had to say to the Metro Online:

I know that [Nasri] is in talks with his club—not to extend his contract, because he said he would not, but to change club.

I personally can't wait for this to happen, because psychologically it is never easy to play in a team and to not be sure whether you will start the season or leave.

With so much drama surrounding the French team and some of its players, there is more to watch than just a soccer match.
