Don't you hate when your on Facebook, and your friend from the Bay Area has the status of: Matt Holliday!!!

That's how I found out about this deal moments ago.

It seems like the Rockies traded Holliday to the Athletics for pitchers Greg Smith and Brett Anderson, though the final package has not been finalized.

Holliday has undoubtedly been the Rockies best player since coming into the league. He had a down year only blasting 25 Home Runs, tying him for first with Brad Hawpe.

The trade should open up some money for the Rockies to go after a big name pitcher and some decent hitters in the off-season (Dan Uggla possibly).

Rumors have swirled around Holliday leaving Colorado for the past few years, with him signing a deal with agent Scott Boras who is know for getting his players big contracts.

But for now, barring a physical, it seems like Holliday will trade in his Purple and Black for Green and Gold.
