It's funny how are just a few years ago, the Houston Texans were the joke of the league.

The Texans joined the NFL in 2002 and have done some major changing in recent seasons. For all you fans, you should be thrilled for what the team has in store in the upcoming years.

The Texans ended last year disappointed at 6-10, after coming off a 9-7 year in 2010.

Even though the season let many fans down, they do have some things to look forward to. They have arguably the best wide receiver in Andre Johnson, a breakout star in Arian Foster, Brian Cushing, Mario Williams and a solid man under center with Matt Schaub.

The biggest problem the Texans faced last year was defending the pass. In fact, they were last in the league and allowed 267.5 yards per game. That has to change, and the Texans made a great effort to do so.

As soon as their season ended, they signed ex-Dallas Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips as their defensive coordinator.

To help further, the Texans drafted one of the best defensive players in the draft with JJ Watt, a great defensive end who looks like he's been playing pro for years. Addressing the deep-ball problem, the Texans picked up Jonathan Joseph and Danieal Manning.

It's obvious the Texans know they're on the verge of something special.

Their 2011 schedule looks kind of tough, opening with four of their first six games against playoff contenders. However if the Texans play quality ball and give it their all, they can finish the season 10-6 at worst.

While it may be next year, or it may be in three years, the Texans will make it to the Super Bowl very soon. They always seem to crack the hated Indianapolis Colts, and if they can just get their defense to hold up on Sundays, they will see great success.

The Houston Texans are a great team with a lot of talent. Fans, get excited, because the Texans are a team that will shock the league and open many eyes in the upcoming years.
