It is the second biggest pay-per-view of the year. This year, it is with good reason. The main events of the PPV have already been decided with Orton and Christian for the Heavyweight title in a No Holds Bar Match and John Cena vs. CM Punk with Triple H as the special referee of the match.
Everyone has been praising the last two WWE PPV's "Extreme Rules" and "Money In The Bank" as they should. They both have been spectacular PPV's with great matches the entire night up and down the card.
This PPV, however, will be better. This PPV will blow all the other PPV's out of the water and quite possibly will be the PPV of the entire year.
The only thing that remains in question is this: What ARE the other matches at SummerSlam?
Seriously, anyone here have a clue?
From what I have read while searching through sites is that WWE plans on having four at SummerSlam and maybe adding two or three more. We still have no idea what they could be and we are less than a week away from the PPV.
We know the four matches are the two main events, the Divas match and Sheamus and Henry. The other matches are in a frenzy of possibilities. However, WWE could use that to their advantage. With that mystery surrounding SumemerSlam, it can give it an interesting look the other PPVs could not.
Would you mind seeing only 4 matches if they all had about 20-30 minutes wrestling each?
Because of the main events being the attention getters, this is the opportunistic time for the other stars in the back to take the PPV and steal it away. The Miz will be in action at SummerSlam no doubt and we know that WWE will put him in a match worthy of his caliber.
Kofi would be the perfect opponent for him and they both know how to outshine everyone in the locker room.
There have been rumors that WWE has a lack of matches because they want to feature more "wrestling" from their superstars. They want them to go out and show the world what they can do. I happily agree with this.
If that is true, WWE will be making a bold move in the right direction because now the power of the PPV rests solely on how they perform. Not that it is not true already but now they know they are in the spotlight and people will be paying attention.
They will getting their freedom and time to show off and actually do what they are paid to do: be wrestlers. If that is the case, then this PPV is going to have more surprises and shock moments than we could imagine. It will put us on the edge of our seats for every match on the card.
I think that is exactly what WWE has in mind for this PPV.
When people are on the edge of their seats for not just the main events but every match to see who will come out the winner, right there you got a formula that can't lose.
If that formula is in play, this PPV is not just one to remember, it will be one that everyone will never forget up and down the card. Not just for the main events.
Thanks for reading.
