Liverpool FC: 5 Left Backs Kenny Dalglish Would Love to Have
It is a well known fact that Kenny Dalglish has been looking for a left-back all summer, but so far he has not managed to find one.
In this article I am going to list five left backs that Dalglish would love to have. All these players have been linked strongly with Liverpool.
Please enjoy the article and comment!
Name: Leighton Baines
Current Club: Everton
Price: £20 million
Leighton Baines would be Kenny Dalglish's dream. Young? Check. English? Check. Loves to attack? Check. Life long Liverpool supporter? Check.
For sale? That's the problem. The chance that David Moyes would sell Everton's top player to their biggest rivals is very slim. He would be perfect for Liverpool, but it doesn't look like it will happen anytime soon.
Name: Aly Cissokho
Current Club: Olympic Lyon
Price: £10 million
Aly Cissokho had a break through season this year, and many clubs were looking to sign him, but Lyon were making things very difficult.
Liverpool actually made a bid a week ago, but Lyon raised the price at the last minute. Looks like Cissokho will be the one that got away.
Name: Emilio Izaguirre
Current Club: Celtic
Price: £8 million
Liverpool have been eyeing this skillful left-back for the last eight months. He has performed well in Scotland, and the feedback is that he would be star in the Premier League.
Neil Lennon insists he is not for sale, but Celtic would find it hard to decline a bid of around £8 million.
Name: Alvaro Pereira
Current Club: Porto
Price: £12 million to £14 million
Pereira is one of the most expensive option on this list but is, in my opinion, also the most talented offensively.
He could strike up a fantastic partnership with Glen Johnson, but the main fear would be if he could cope in the Premier League. He did, however, perform excellently in Copa America.
Name: Jose Enrique
Current Club: Newcastle
Price: £10 million
Enrique would definitely be the safest option here and also one of the cheaper options, as his contract runs out next year.
He would not be as talented going forward, as say, Pereira, but he would be cheaper and stronger defensively.
