Gina Carano Cleared to Train, Manager Hopes for Return to Strikeforce in 2011

Some good news today for women's MMAGina Carano is set to return to her training and if all goes well she could be in the cage soon.

Like it says on, it is far from a promise. Carano's manager Scott Karp though told that Carano will be back in training soon.

"She's feeling good," Karp said. "She's ready to get back in there and train."

Short, sweet and to the point.

Gina was expected to return to the cage against Sarah D'Alelio in June at Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum, but was unable to compete because she had a mysterious ailment that led her personal doctor unable clear her to fight on the Texas card. It looks like the medical issues that kept her out of that fight are behind her.

Carano was last seen in the cage in 2009 when she was lost the first fight of her career to Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos.

Carano also filmed "Haywire" last fall and has a starring role in the movie. Carano will star alongside actors Channing Tatum, Michael Douglas, Ewan McGregor and Antonio Banderas.
