On Thursday evening, Brady Quinn started his first game as an NFL quarterback, replacing Derek Anderson after the Browns 3-5 start this season.
Many analysts and critics think it was a poor decision; that the losses weren't Anderson's fault. Many feel that Coach Romeo Crennel listened to the fans in Cleveland rather than basing the decision on the game.
Regardless of the reason for the switch, Quinn got the start against Denver last Thursday. Another part of the dispute was that it was a short week and the second year NFL player only had three days to prepare for the Broncos. Quinn has rejected any excuses for their 34-30 loss, taking it squarely on his shoulders, as any leader would.
The question now is that if he worth picking up in your fantasy football league.
At first mention that Anderson would be benched in favor of Quinn, I found that teams were already scooping him up. Whether they played him against Denver or not, he was getting nabbed in a lot of leagues. He went undrafted in the majority of leagues, but is now owned in over 40 percent of them.
Against the Broncos, Quinn was 23-35, completing almost 68 percent of his passes. He threw for 239 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions, compiling a QB rating of 104.3. He now gets nine days of rest and preparation before facing Buffalo on November 17th.
