Braylon Edwards Rumors: Latest on Edwards to Vikings, Cardinals and Titans

Braylon Edwards is one of the most talented free agents left on the market, but his checkered past seems to be holding up a deal for the 28-year-old wide receiver.

Edwards, who had 904 yards and seven touchdowns with the Jets last season, would be a welcome addition to receiver-needy teams like the Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals and Tennessee Titans.

Here are the odds he ends up with each of those teams:

Arizona Cardinals: 5-to-1

Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reported on Twitter a few days ago that the Cardinals were in talks with Edwards about a “short-term” deal. Nothing as been agreed to yet, but with so few other rumors since then, the Cardinals are likely the favorite.

Minnesota Vikings: 8-to-1

There is no doubt the Vikings need to give new quarterback Donovan McNabb another option, but who do they like more, Edwards or Malcolm Floyd?

At this point it seems like they prefer Floyd, but he might be signing with the Ravens today. That would open the door to more Edwards-to-Vikings speculation.

Tennessee Titans: 25-to-1

Terry McCormick of tweeted about the possibility of the Titans signing Edwards, and he said, “Don't buy it!” Although Tennessee could use another wideout, they appear to be looking in a different direction.

As fans have rediscovered during the hectic free-agency period since the lockout has ended, rumors can only take you so far. The chances that Edwards ends up with a team not listed above are probably close to the same odds that he signs with the Vikings.
