Back to Back- New Captain Canuck Leading By Example

Everybody knows the Canucks are great when Roberto Luongo is on his game.  When he is on the Canucks look like World beaters and that's how they have looked the last two games.  With back to back shutouts Roberto Luongo has been dominant and put the Canucks on the right path to success this season.  With they're 1-0 victory against the Coyotes Luongo collected his 42nd career shutout good for fourth among active NHL goaltenders.
The Canucks currently sit in sixth place Friday going into Saturday's match up for first against they're division foes the Wild.  The Canucks Will no doubt be banking on they're captain to be stellar again as the Wild are as disciplined and sound defensively as any team there is in hockey today.   Luongo believes it is a total team effort that is the result of they're recent good fortune, "It's a combination of things," Luongo said. "I feel good. The guys are playing well in front of me. We're getting some good bounces our way."   said Luongo, "When we help each other out like that on the ice, we get good results."  And that is something they will have to do alot of this upcoming week as they have another 3 games at home before embarking on a 3 game road trip.  These upcoming games are huge and while it is still early in the season these early games can greatly help them when it gets down to the homestretch of the season.
This game Saturday will not be for the feint at heart as these are two teams who have become biter enemies the last few years.  Look for a low scoring and tight checking game as these teams are as tight defensively as any team in the NHL.  Saturday will be a major day in Vancouver with people glued to they're tv's watching the Lions in the West semi-final and then the Canucks and the WIld in a first place showdown.
