US Open of Surfing Preview

The US Open of Surfing is now an action sports staple. With sponsors like Nike and all events being free to the public, it's no wonder so many people are flocking to Huntington Beach, CA.

The US Open of surfing isn't exclusively a surfing competition. 500,000 people stretch across the south side of Huntington Pier to indulge in a week of sports like surfing, skating, BMX.

Also drawing spectators is the music, arts and fashion that are injected into the 14 acres playing host to the events. There is something for everyone at Huntington Beach and the festival is rapidly becoming a huge tourist attraction and an action sports mainstay.

The tournament will be a prime opportunity for surfers to pick up points in the ASP World Tour. On land, there will be a fashion show, BMX and skating competition and a week of festivities.

The US Open of surfing is a combination of the X Games, a surf competition, an outdoor mall, fashion show and concert.

The US Open of Surfing is an unparalleled mixture of sports and youth culture. It's going to be an intense week of action-packed events in Huntington Beach and you won't want to miss a second of it.

The week of festivities runs from July 30th - August 7th.
