If you don’t like cheerleaders than you don’t have a pulse.
They are an integral part of the game. They cheer and the pep make the players perform better (right?) and excite the crowd, who without their help would not know to clap when good things happen.
While real life cheerleaders are cool, fake ones are even better. Actresses take on the challenging roles of young women who get to jump around and date the jocks while making others feel inferior.
Some of the cheerleading stories are supposed to be uplifting, but most of the time, they fit the stereotype.
Here are the 25 best fake cheerleaders in television and movie history.
Honorable Mention: Megan Fox (Jennifer's Body)
She gets the nod for an honorable mention here, because the movie was horrible. Cheerleaders are supposed to be peppy and cute. Fox on the other hand is a demonized killer.
Despite not being your typical cheerleader, Fox is smoking hot and it would be an injustice to keep her off a list that includes sexy women.
25. Brooke Langton (The Replacements)
Was she the only cheerleader that did not get locked out or ask for a new contract? While you think about the logic in all this, take a look at her in her cheerleading uniform and be amazed.
While she may have ended up with Keanu Reeves (bad choice), her cheerleading skills have allowed her to make the list.
24. Mena Suvari (Sugar and Spice)
Suvaru plays tough cheerleader Kansas Hill, who works with her friends to rob a bank and pay for an expecting co-cheerleader’s baby – I know this all sounds like real life, right.
She takes her convict mom’s advice throughout the movie and like all teenage girl masterminds, they all allude jail.
23. Ali Larter (Varsity Blues)
Everyone remembers that classic scene where she come out in a whipped cream bikini and makes every guy wish he was James Van Der Beek (for a second).
She played the cheerleader who wanted to date the star quarterback, no matter who it was. Once Lance Harbor went down, she moved onto the next man on the depth chart.
22. Hayden Panettiere (Heroes)
The tagline of the show was, “Save the cheerleader, save the world”. I don’t know too many other scenarios where the cheerleader is the focal point of the world order, but it’s nice to play pretend.
She had the special power of regenerating, which was cool to watch, but I liked her a cheerleader better.
21. Tiffani-Amber Thiessen (Saved by the Bell)
As a cheerleader on “Saved by the Bell,” Kelly Kapowski represented the All-American girl. She had the attention of every character on the show, and every teenager watching at home, all the while being kind and compassionate.
While we know this hardly exists in real life, we all dream of being with girls like Kelly.
20. Dianna Agron (Glee)
Yes, there are cheerleaders in a singing show and believe it or not they are rooting for people that play sports. These athletes are also the same people the sing in the show. Confused? So am I.
Either way, she is a beautiful standout from the hit show. Makes me want to watch it. Just kidding.
19. Alyson Michalka (Hellcats)
“Hellcats” lasted only one season before it was cancelled – big surprise. But, at least we got to see Marti Perkins burst onto the scene and show us why college cheerleading can be tolerable.
She is casted as a smart girl who surprisingly has an amazing talent for floor routines and cheerleading. Sounds good, sign me up.
18. Ashley Tisdale (Hellcats)
Tisdale's role as Savannah Monroe on “Hellcats” did not net her an Emmy, but it landed her on a bleacher report swagger list, which is one in the same.
She took her “High School Musical” background and used it towards her new project. This explains why it lasted only 22 episodes.
17. Megan Park (The Secret Life of the American Teenager)
After doing some research of Park’s character Grace Bowman, I have come to learn that her cheerleading days were the best of her life. After that, she really went off the deep end. For more detail I refer you to the God of information, Mr. Wikipedia.
This once again proves that every girl should be a cheerleader or bad things will happen.
16. Jaime Pressly (Not Another Teen Movie)
In this satirical teen movie, she dug into “Bring It On” with her classic line, “It’s already been broughten”.
Despite her clear lack of intelligence , she makes up for it by being witty (as witty as a cheerleader can be) and really good looking.
15. Julie Gonzalo (Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story)
14. Gabrielle Union (Bring It On)
Before she dated Dwayne Wade, Union started out in a little movie called, “Bring It On”. She was the head cheerleader for the East Compton Clovers and brought her team to the national championship all on her own.
She had some nice fight in her and made me, I mean us (the general population, uhum, uhum) proud. She is one cheerleader I never want to get into a fight with.
13. Kirsten Dunst (Bring It On)
She is the centerpiece of the whole movie and the captain of the Rancho Carne Toros. Torrance Shipman leads her squad against the vaunted competition of high school cheerleading through controversy.
I am currently making this sound a lot more serious than it really is. It’s a movie you watch with a girl, nothing more, and nothing less.
12. Christina Milian (Love Don't Cost a Thing)
Milian plays Paris Morgan, a cheerleader who, you guessed it, dates the star basketball player.
One thing leads to another (I’m not going to tell you, watch the move) and she ends up dating Nick Cannon. This was not her first time appearing as a cheerleader. She was also in the all-time classic “Bring It On: Fight to the Finish” as Lina Cruz.
11. Hilarie Burton (One Tree Hill)
Teen dramas are a bit off my radar, but hot actresses playing cheerleaders are not. Burton plays, Peyton Sawyer (all the way on the left) who goes through romances and issues throughout the show.
If all you got from that was hot and cheerleader, then you're all good.
10. Ashanti (John Tucker Must Die)
She is one of three girls that John Tucker is dating. As the head cheerleader, she is the feisty type who acts as the top girl in school.
I don’t know what is more impressive; how good Ashanti looks or how a guy was able to date three girls at one time, without any of them knowing.
9. Bethany Joy Galeotti (One Tree Hill)
She was the girl-next-door character that faced obstacles and yada yada yada…
What she really was, was a good looking cheerleader (picture from different cheerleading movie she was in) and a hot one at that.
8. Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Death Proof)
There is nothing more manly than a muscle car in a Tarantino film. The only thing that can make it better is a hot cheerleader for the icing on the cake.
This is not a sports movie and will not be confused with something heartwarming and nice. That being said, cheering is cheering.
7. Sophia Bush (One Tree Hill)
After sifting through the drama, it is noted that she was the captain of her cheerleading squad (in the show) and she went on to have a good life.
Beyond that, there isn’t much else to care about or learn from these shows other than that sports is always better television.
6. Kristin Kreuk (Smallville)
She is Kent Clark’s first love in the show "Smallville". Apparently not even Superman is beyond lusting for cheerleaders.
If Lana Lang can control Superman, then she basically controls the world by just being hot.
5. Charisma Carpenter (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
I didn’t watch “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” or “Angel” but that doesn’t mean that I don’t appreciate a good cheerleading character.
Those who were fortunate enough to watch certainly got to see one of the hotter fake cheerleaders.
4. Heather Morris (Glee)
Another Glee co-star is cheerleader Brittany Pierce. She may not get as much play in the media, but lookout for her in the near future.
She is a hot up and comer that could be a sports WAG before you know it. Get on it Cristiano Ronaldo.
3. Mila Kunis (That '70s Show)
While Jackie Burkhart, played by Kunis, did not wear her cheerleading uniform too often, she played the part well.
She was stuck up, narcissistic, and mean. All the while, she got hotter and hotter as the show went on and always left us wanting more. She kind of makes you wish you grew up in Wisconsin in the 70’s.
2. Eliza Dushku (Bring It On)
Dushku is another “Bring It On” cheerleader who is the best looking of the three on this list. She was the renegade who didn’t want to be part of the team until she was convinced.
Like all cheerleading movies, she worked hard and used her edge to her advantage. I’m still waiting for the movie when the cheerleader quits half way through and then the credits roll.
1. Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights)
Kelly played Lyla Garrity, the Dillon Panthers head cheerleader and girlfriend of star quarterback Jason Street – until he got hurt. She was the town’s sweetheart and adored by every guy that she came into contact with.
By season’s end, she turned in her cheer uniform for church…booo.
