WWE: Will Zack Ryder Break Through as Teddy Long's Assistant or Fall Flat

It appears as if everyone's favorite YouTube sensation may have finally found some support within the WWE management team because he is now Teddy Long's assistant on Smackdown.

This is an opportunity to for Zack to get himself out there and build a fan base, much the way Vickie Guerrero did in the same job, although her objective was to become hated, not beloved.

Ryder has had many superstars with pull backstage like CM Punk and John Cena speak up for him in interviews and on TV as well as numerous other industry veterans.

The fact that he has been able to create such a buzz about himself using Youtube and Twitter and without the help of WWE with the exception of the occasional Superstars match is incredible. It shows that there is still hope for today's superstars to become the next generations of greats.

I personally think Ryder is hilarious and intelligent for making this happen, but I am not under any kind of impression that he is some in ring genius.

The fact is Zack Ryder is a good wrestler, not a great wrestler or an awesome wrestler.

His personality in the ring is not exactly as magnetic as his personality in his videos which is why I have my doubts as to whether or not this new position will actually work for the Internet Champion.

By the way, that new Internet title is awesome and deserves to be represented on TV in some way, if not to at least be defended at live shows which are then shown on WWE.com.

I have actually thought that WWE should show some of their live matches on the Internet as a way to expand the WWE experience, especially when live events often feature matches the fans would love to see in other places around the world that are not performed on TV.

I can say from experience that some of the live events I have been to have had matches that blew away what I had seen on TV that same week featuring the same guys.

Daniel Bryan is way more exciting to watch live, as is Cody Rhodes and Evan Bourne.

Ryder has a shot to take all those times people spoke up for him and make them proud by showing everyone what determination and dedication can get you, or he has a shot to blow the biggest chance in his career.
