The Detroit Tigers are now in the race for Ubaldo Jimenez. They upped their game recently by calling up pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez. Jon Heyman of SI reports that Detroit is also being quite active on the trade front, indicating to Dan O'Dowd of the Colorado Rockies that they are willing to part with Jacob Turner.

Despite being called up, though, things seem a bit fishy in this situation. Jason Beck of MLB.com reports that Turner will not be pitching for Eerie and is not with the team currently. The Tigers are not answering questions about his status right now.

This could mean that the Tigers are serious in the talks for Ubaldo Jimenez and decided to pull Turner in order to avoid potential injury. It might also just be Jacob Turner being called up for his first MLB appearance.

We will only know for sure why the Tiger are keeping Jacob Turner's status on the down low.
