No Surprises Here… FA Hand Out Ferguson Punishment

After having a go at the referee for booking Wayne Rooney at Goodison Park a few weeks ago, I knew Sir Alex Ferguson was walking on dangerous ground with the FA. There is only so much he could get away with and it appears that his angry tirade at Hull is the straw that broke the camel’s back, with our manager now facing a lengthy touchline ban.

After laying in to Mike Dean following his failure to protect our players, particularly after Matthew Turner committed a second bookable offence on Michael Carrick, yet the referee bottled it and just awarded a freekick.

“Michael Carrick was brought down on the edge of the box and the player had already been booked,” said Ferguson after the game. “So the referee has failed in his duty there. It should have been a red card because the player’s right through. Even a yellow card and the player’s off.”

After the final whistle blew, Ferguson gave Dean a piece of his mind, before captain Gary Neville pulled him away.
