Braylon Edwards and Top WR Options for the Minnesota Vikings This Offseason
The Minnesota Vikings have lost Sidney Rice and now need a No. 1 receiver to come in and be "the guy" in Minneapolis.
Look for a move to be made rather soon by the team as ownership knows that the window of opportunity for contention (both in free agency and the division) is closing.
Here are the four WR options for the Vikings this offseason.
Braylon Edwards
1 of 4In my opinion, Braylon Edwards needs to be the signing for the Minnesota Vikings this offseason.
Continue reading here to find out why.
Edwards is a big-bodied guy with playoff experience who knows how to come down with the jump ball—keep reading to find out why he is the guy for the Vikings.
Mike Sims-Walker
2 of 4If you asked me yesterday morning, I'd have said that Mike Sims-Walker-to-the-Bears was a done deal—now, not so much.
The Bears have since signed Roy Williams, who plays a similar (albeit worse) style to Sims-Walker.
With the Vikings in need of a big receiver who can be a No. 1, Sims-Walker is certainly an option.
James Jones
3 of 4I'm certain that James Jones' appeal goes beyond his playoff experience to some extent, but I just don't see it.
Jones put up inflated numbers as the No. 3 (No. 4, depending on how much you like Jordy Nelson) receiver in one of the best offenses in the NFL.
Signing Jones is a big risk, as he has very shaky hands and won't have Aaron Rodgers throwing to him anymore.
Malcom Floyd
4 of 4If it's not Braylon Edwards, Malcom Floyd would be the next best option for the Minnesota Vikings.
Even though he may suffer from James Jones-syndrome (posting big numbers thanks to his quarterback), he has experience being a No. 1 wide receiver and he can catch the jump ball.
Floyd is not a big name, but he'd be able to come in and be a legitimate threat for Minnesota.
