FC Barcelona and Mia Hamm are presenting the fourth annual Celebrity Soccer Challenge in the Washington D.C. area.
The event is set to take place on Sunday, July 31st at 11:00 AM Eastern Time and will feature celebrities from around the country.
The most notable celebrity attending the event will be Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant. The funny thing about Bryant is that he used to be a soccer player and had he remained in Italy during his younger years he could have been suiting up for his favorite childhood team, AC Milan, instead of the LA Lakers.
The LA Times got a hold of an interview that Bryant once had with the Chicago Tribune that discusses Bryant's soccer career:
"I wasn't anything spectacular. I would have moments of doing something crazy that really wasn't done on purpose. I'd pull off a nice move that was unintentional.
"I started out at goalkeeper because my arms were so long and I didn't really have a good feel at handling the ball. As I practiced and progressed, they moved me to midfield."
Another big name attending the event is Alex Morgan. Morgan became a star at the 2011 Women's World Cup after scoring twice for the United States and will be joined by her Team USA teammates Tobin Heath, Ali Krieger and Heather O'Reilly.
