Brrrrrrrrr! MLB Playoffs: You Can't Script Octob..wait...November?

Rain. Snow. Sleet. Hail. Welcome to the month of November.

If Bug Selig and MLB sticks to their current plan, at least one World Series game will be played in the month of November. That's right, the frozen month following October. Get ready for more Under Armour, more hand warmers, and more football-like frozen fans.

Thanks to the World Baseball Classic, the MLB season is being pushed back by about a week. Instead of adding more doubleheaders to the season, MLB decided to just push the entire season backwards.

If a team from a cold-climate area makes it to the World Series next year, expect the debate over using a neutral field in the World Series to explode into an even larger fight.  If you thought there were plenty of naysayers following a delayed Phillies-Rays Game 5, this delay next season may add more fans to the neutral-site bandwagon.

If this trend in extending the baseball season continues, tarps and rakes will have to be substituted by salt and snowblowers. Batting gloves will be replaced by mittens. Baseballs will be replaced with snowballs.

You get the point.

Bug Selig, wake up and smell the coffee. Actually, in November, you're going to want some hot chocolate instead.
