ProFootballTalk.com is reporting that the deal between the Washington Redskins and defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins appears dead.

Their sources say a handshake deal was either in place or very close but the Redskins backed out and signed former Dallas Cowboys DT Stephen Bowen.

Now PFT is safe in saying it appears to be dead but until Jenkins signs somewhere else you really can't be sure.

I'm sure there could be some sort of negotiation between the two if Jenkins can't find an offer close to what the Redskins have offered him.

In spite of the flurry of wide receiver signings yesterday the Redskins have seem to have made defense a priority today.
