According to an article by tribalfootball.com (via Yahoo! Sports), Real Madrid rejected an offer by the Turkish football (soccer) club Galatasaray for Lassana Diarra. The reason (like the majority of the transactions) is financial.
Galatasaray offered Real Madrid $11 million for the midfielder, while Real Madrid is asking for $28.5 million.
It appears that Real Madrid might not want Diarra but wants a higher price tag before the UEFA Financial Fair Play rules become effective next year.
The latest drama of this soccer transfer window (according to Talk Sport) has Diarra rejecting Galatasaray and Turkey in favor of a return to the Premier League. Diarra is hoping that Manchester United or Tottenham Hotspur will express an interest in him.
Manchester United once expressed an interest in Diarra but are not at the present time. Harry Redknapp of Tottenham Hotspur is expressing interest since he once managed Diarra.
It remains to be seen how this drama unfolds.
