The San Francisco Giants have made the biggest trade of the regular season so far in trading for Mets outfielder Carlos Beltran for pitcher Zack Wheeler. Beltran was rumored to go to a number of different teams from Texas to Cincinnati.

The 34-year-old outfielder is batting .298 with 15 homers and 66 RBI.

Due to this trade, the Giants have to make a corresponding 40-man roster move. The consensus was that the team was going to release outfielder Pat Burrell.

This is not the case.

According to Hank Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle, the Giants will not release Burrell, who is batting .233 in 80 games this season.

The person who will be released has not been reported yet, so if I were you Giants fans, I'd stay tuned.
