NFL Free Agency: Randy Moss Could Be a Possible Addition for the New York Jets
As the New York Jets and Santonio reportedly reached an agreement on a new contract, there simply may not be enough money to retain fellow wide receiver Braylon Edwards.
The Jets were already well over the salary cap limit prior to the agreement with Holmes, and the $50 million contract of Holmes is simply not going to be much help either.
As Edwards ranks as one of the free agent wide receivers available, he will likely be too expensive for the Jets to re-sign which could open the door for a potential free agent signing of Randy Moss.

There have always been rumors about Moss becoming a Jet and how Rex Ryan has always admired the wide receiver, but most recently, NFL Network's Jason La Canfora speculates that Moss could have "emerge as an option for the Jets."
2010 was a lost year for Moss, as he became the first player in NFL history to be trade two times while playing on three different teams.
Moss left the New England Patriots on bad-terms, after only playing four games and snagging nine balls for three touchdowns, he was then traded to the Minnesota Vikings, his previous stomping grounds. Moss' time in Minnesota wasn't anything to brag about either, as he played in only eight games for the Vikes and caught 13 balls while scoring two touchdowns. Moss then spent sometime with the Tennessee Titans and was simply awful as he only caught six passes in eight games.
The 34 year-old Moss may be at the end of his career, but could still be a serviceable player with a little bit left in his tank.
If the Jets want to acquire a cheap wide receiver that has had a solid track record of production, then Moss could be a suitable option.
