Whoever says Perfection is cut-and-dried complete product is just kidding us big time. Those good ol' days when they read out all the nonsense that man is the perfect example of God's/nature's design dunno what they are talking about, in all likelihood, they must have forgotten what brainwashing could do to them.
Okay, pardon me, but is there such a thing as perfection in sport. Bull me not! There is? Oh, you call getting to the finish line without mishaps is perfect. Well, I agree not!
There is no such thing as a perfect race, a perfect game or a perfect pace. Ask Nadia Comaneci what that Perfect-10 was all about. She would tell you that it is plain hard work and it simply did not matter whether the bar was held at Perfect 10 or not as it did not matter to her, as it was not her best, as it was not perfect for her.
Can Perfection Be Quantified/Measured?
Numbers could lie, right! So whoever said that perfection can be calibrated has been trying to sell you an invisible race horse. It is only in the effect it leaves on the individual performer or the collective psyche of the individuals that watch with revere that moment-that perfection exists. It is a fleeting feeling that exists in that time and space, in that moment.
There is no such thing as 100% Perfect.
One can always go on incessantly, unceasingly in the quest for perfection. There is no limit, no boundary. There is no such thing as 100% perfect, if you believe in that, then you should also believe in 200%.
Perfection can be weighed in only comparison to other less perfect performances. So it is a comparative index that shows what is perfect and what is imperfect. It does not have an existence on its own.
Perfection Is the End
After perfection there is nothing; that is like saying it is an abyss. If there is nothing beyond perfection then one would only despair.
Perfection is getting the thing right always
That is not perfection, that is monotony, that is repetition.
Perfection is doing your best
Subjective, it does not have any objective precedents to stand on.
Perfection is a tool to understand the human dimension and is a measure of human capabilities
This is where I tend to agree to an extent. You can have the perfect race, but that also depends on other having the same perfect race so as for you to call YOUR RACE THE PERFECT RACE.
Perfection is the Hallmark of Excellence
You can be excellent at the sport you take as your vocation, but that does not mean that it is perfection.
Perfection is getting all the things right at the same time
That is just math and permutations-and-combinations, it has nothing do with Perfection.
Say you parallel park your car perfectly and then this bloke from the next lane hits your car while swerving a toddler in the parking lot, where did that perfect parking get you- a beaten car.
One can only perfect the thing that one knows, Perfection is only constant learning. It applies to all sport, all sports persons, and all sporting moments.
So until that next perfect moment.
I remain sincerely,
Sarah
