The Washington Post is reporting that the Washington Redskins and the Minnesota Vikings are close to a deal that would send veteran quarterback Donovan McNabb to the the Vikes.

Compensation for the Redskins is reported to be a sixth-round pick in 2012 and a conditional sixth-round pick in 2013.

Not the best of compensation, but better than just releasing McNabb and getting nothing for him.  Also, the move frees up about $4 million in cap space.

With McNabb going to Minnesota, that's one less distraction for the team—now they just need to find a home for Albert Haynesworth.
